Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron today, discussing regional stability, bilateral cooperation, and upcoming diplomatic initiatives.

During the call, Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted Iraq’s efforts to host a regional conference in Baghdad aimed at addressing pressing regional challenges. He also warned of the risks of a new conflict threatening regional security, emphasizing Iraq’s commitment to preventing escalation through dialogue grounded in international law.

According to the Media Office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s focus on economic development and its constructive role in fostering regional peace. He welcomed President Macron’s upcoming visit to Baghdad and expressed Iraq’s appreciation for France’s principled stance on the Palestinian issue, noting that ongoing violations represent a serious challenge to international stability.

President Macron praised Iraq’s achievements in maintaining security and stability, reaffirmed France’s support for its strategic partnership with Iraq, and expressed hope that his visit will deliver concrete outcomes.
