Lahur Sheikh Jangi has raised the possibility of not participating in the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, stating, "We consider the creation of a favorable and suitable environment necessary for holding a clean and fair election." He further added, "Otherwise, as the People's Front, we will not be prepared to participate in a redesigned election, despite having made all preparations at this time."

These remarks from the President of the People's Front were made during a meeting today with Yann Braem, the Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region.

Sheikh Jangi, a former co-chair of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and now head of the newly formed People’s Front, criticized the dominant political parties in the Kurdistan Region for their failure to reach agreements on key governance issues.

Regarding the formation of the tenth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Lahur Sheikh Jangi stated, "It is unacceptable for both ruling parties to be so indifferent and to endanger the future of the Kurdistan Region for the sake of their disagreement over ministerial posts." He also "emphasized the need for a radical solution to the problems between the Region and Baghdad, especially the issue of the salaries of the Region's employees."

"The persistence of these problems in this manner compels all loyalists of this nation to think of another course of action outside of civil and parliamentary struggle," the President of the People's Front asserted.

He elaborated, "Because when the authorities are so indifferent, and unfortunately, the opposition forces each have their tails tied to another place and, aside from actionless words, are not jointly prepared to participate in any project against all this injustice, we and those like us are forced to think of another method to restore the rights of the people and to become an alternative to what currently exists on the ground."

The People’s Front, which made its electoral debut in the October 20 Kurdistan parliamentary elections and secured two seats.
