KRG Ministry of Finance distributes February salaries after funds received from Iraqi Government

The Ministry of Finance of Iraq has dispatched the funds for the February salaries to the Kurdistan Region, and the distribution process has commenced.

Simultaneously, Peshawa Hawramani, the spokesperson for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), announced that during today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani instructed all ministers to expedite the preparation of the March salary lists and send them to Baghdad. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of continuing efforts in the coming days to ensure that the March salaries are distributed before the holiday.

The funds for February salaries have been transferred to the account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Region.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, following two weeks of intensive meetings between the technical teams of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Region to address, respond to, and clarify all new requests submitted by the Federal Ministry of Finance for this month, an amount of 957,925,880,078 Iraqi dinars was deposited into the account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Region at the Erbil branch of the Central Bank of Iraq. This amount represents the full requested funds for February salaries for the employees and salary recipients of the Kurdistan Region, without any deductions. The technical team of the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance expressed gratitude to the technical team of the Federal Ministry of Finance for their cooperation and coordination over the past two weeks, working as a unified team to complete all necessary procedures for reviewing the salary lists and transferring the funds for the employees of the Kurdistan Region.

It is noteworthy that, in accordance with auditing and guidance procedures, a monthly balance review report is prepared after the 10th of each month. Based on this, the balance review report for February is currently being prepared to determine the federal share of the Kurdistan Region’s oil revenues and to send it to the Federal Ministry of Finance at the earliest opportunity.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, the distribution of February salaries for the employees and salary recipients of the Kurdistan Region will begin, and the salaries of all recipients will be distributed within a few days.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Region has intensified its efforts and is coordinating with all ministries, departments, and presidencies to ensure that the March salary lists are sent to the Federal Ministry of Finance next week.
