The Fourth Brigade of Sinjar belongs to the Yazidi community, affiliated with the Peshmerga Ministry, has announced its secession from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and called on Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani to transfer them to the federal government.

During a press conference in Baghdad, the brigade, consisting of more than 1,200 officers and Peshmerga fighters, accused the KRG of violating their rights and entitlements.

"We, the 4th Peshmerga Brigade, declare that we have been oppressed and deprived of our rights, just as the people of our community have suffered over the past decade," the brigade said in a statement.

The statement further emphasized their decision to resign from both political and military roles within the Kurdistan Region due to the policies imposed on them.

"We have decided to abandon our military duties in the Kurdistan Region and request the Iraqi prime minister to transfer us to the federal security forces," the brigade added.

The Peshmerga Ministry has not yet commented on the brigade's position.
