Null Votes Rank Third in the Special Vote of Kurdistan Region Parliamentary Elections

In the special voting for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections held yesterday, the number of null votes across the three constituencies Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok ranked second overall, while in the Kurdistan Region, it was the third highest after the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

According to unofficial preliminary results obtained by Peregraf from sources within the parties, the highest number of invalid votes was recorded in Sulaymaniyah, totaling approximately 17,000. This was followed by Erbil with around 9,000 invalid votes, Duhok with approximately 3,000, and Halabja with more than 200 invalid votes.

Voter turnout was reported at 97%, with 208,521 out of 215,960 registered voters casting their ballots.

Erbil had the highest number of private voters at 89,791, with 87,513 casting their votes, equating to a 97% turnout. Sulaymaniyah had 78,661 private voters, with 76,501 votes cast, also 97%. Duhok reported 40,956 voters, with 40,206 ballots cast, achieving a turnout of 98%. Halabja had 952 private voters, with 917 votes cast, resulting in a 96% turnout.
