Erbil Under Drone Attack: 10 Intercepted in One Hour; Wreckage Hits Residence

Peregraf — A security source informed Peregraf that 10 drones targeted Erbil within a single hour tonight, all of which were reportedly "successfully intercepted" by air defense systems.

Despite the interceptions, video footage circulating online shows the wreckage of a drone that struck a residential house in Erbil later in the evening. The number of casualties remains unconfirmed, and authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding potential injuries or property damage.

The incident marks the latest in a series of escalating attacks on the Kurdistan Region, as tensions intensify amid the ongoing US-Israel War on Iran, now in its 33rd day. The conflict, which began on February 28, 2026, has increasingly spilled over into Iraqi territory, particularly affecting Erbil and surrounding areas.

Data compiled by the Peregraf Media Foundation indicates that more than 500 drones and missiles have targeted locations across the Kurdistan Region since the outbreak of hostilities. These attacks have been attributed either to Iranian forces or to armed groups operating under the banner of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq.

According to Peregraf’s records, at least 13 people—including Peshmerga personnel and security officers—have been killed in these operations, while approximately 50 others have been wounded.

One of the deadliest incidents occurred on March 24, when six Peshmerga fighters were killed in ballistic missile strikes in Erbil Province, underscoring the growing risks posed by the continued escalation.
