PM Al-Sudani Labels Attacks on Oil Field, Hotel and US Embassy as 'Terrorist Acts', Orders Immediate Manhunt
Peregraf- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has condemned a series of coordinated strikes targeting key infrastructure and diplomatic sites, describing them as “terrorist attacks” and ordering an immediate manhunt for those responsible.
In a statement issued by Sabah Al-Numan, the attacks were reported to have hit the Majnoon Oil Field, the Al-Rasheed International Hotel, and the headquarters of the United States Embassy in Baghdad.
The spokesman said the incidents come amid ongoing “treacherous attacks” against Iraqi security forces, including elements of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which have resulted in casualties. He warned that targeting vital infrastructure and diplomatic missions is a direct attempt to destabilize the country.
“These criminal acts carry serious repercussions for Iraq and undermine the government’s efforts toward reconstruction and prosperity,” the statement said.
Al-Sudani directed all security and intelligence agencies to “pursue and track down those responsible and bring them to justice without delay,” stressing that “the security of the state and the safety of its citizens are a red line that cannot be crossed.”
He also ordered that any officials found negligent in their duties be held accountable, signaling stricter enforcement within the security apparatus.
The statement concluded that Iraqi civilians remain the primary victims of such attacks, affirming that authorities will take firm measures to preserve stability across the country.
