Peregraf — A coalition of Iranian Kurdish opposition parties has said that recent missile and drone attacks by Iranian forces on their bases will not weaken their campaign against Tehran, following several days of military escalation that left fighters and civilians dead or wounded.

In an official statement, the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan said the Islamic Republic of Iran had repeatedly targeted the bases of Kurdish political forces of Iranian Kurdistan (Rojhelat) with missiles and drones.

According to the statement, Jalal Rashidi, a Peshmerga fighter from the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), was killed on March 4, 2026, in the attacks, while three other fighters from the party were wounded. Additional Peshmerga from the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) and the Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan were also injured.

The coalition said the strikes had also caused civilian casualties inside Kurdistan, with several people reportedly killed or wounded in different cities as a result of the bombardments.

"The regime's attacks on the bases and headquarters of the political parties of eastern Kurdistan are a sign of its weakness and deep fear of the Kurdish rights movement in Iran," the coalition said in its statement.

It added that the attacks would not slow the Kurdish opposition's campaign but would instead, in the coalition's words, "strengthen the will to continue the struggle for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic and the liberation of Kurdistan."

The coalition also issued a warning to civilians in Iran's Kurdish regions, urging residents to stay away from areas used by Iranian forces. According to the statement, government forces have been holding military and security meetings in public facilities such as mosques, schools, and administrative centers.

"We call on the people of Kurdistan to distance themselves from the regime's military bases, security centers and gathering places of its forces," the statement said.

The Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan was formed on February 22, 2026, when several Kurdish opposition groups announced a unified political front amid rising regional tensions. In their founding declaration, the parties said the current political system in Iran had "lost its legitimacy" and called for a coordinated response to the country's internal instability.

The founding members of the alliance are the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), led by Hussein Yazdanpanah; the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK); the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), led by Mustafa Hijri; the Khabat Organisation of Iranian Kurdistan; and the Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan.

The coalition expanded on March 4, 2026, when the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan officially joined the alliance, broadening coordination among Kurdish opposition factions.

The formation of the coalition followed a series of high-level meetings between Kurdish party leaders aimed at aligning their political and military activities as tensions in the region continued to escalate.
