Peregraf — The spokesperson for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Peshawa Hawramani, on Thursday dismissed reports alleging that the Kurdistan Region is involved in a plan to arm and deploy Kurdish opposition parties into Iranian territory, calling the claims “completely false.”
In an official statement, Hawramani said the KRG “categorically rejects these claims,” adding that the reports are being circulated “with malicious intent.”
He stressed that the KRG and political parties in the Kurdistan Region are not part of any campaign aimed at expanding war or escalating tensions in the region.
“On the contrary, we call for regional peace and stability,” the statement said.
The KRG spokesperson also condemned recent attacks against the Kurdistan Region, describing them as “cowardly,” and urged both the Government of Iraq and the international community to take action.
“We call upon the Federal Government and the international community to halt the assaults on the Kurdistan Region and protect our land, our people, and the stability of the area,” Hawramani said.
