Iraqi PM Orders Cost-Cutting Measures, Ends Contracts of Advisors as Government Program Nears Completion
Peregraf - The media office of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced a series of integration and organizational measures within the Prime Minister’s Office aimed at reducing expenditures and improving performance.
According to the statement, the measures include terminating the contracts of a number of advisors and experts who had been tasked with managing and following up on key files related to the implementation of the government program. The program has reached an overall completion rate of 88%, the statement said, with the Prime Minister’s Office expressing appreciation for the efforts and contributions of those whose contracts have ended, as well as all government personnel.
The Prime Minister’s Office has also adopted broader rationalization steps to cut spending across most categories of its operational budget, as part of a wider push to ensure efficient use of public resources.
Al-Sudani emphasized that all government institutions are required to fully implement the decisions of the Iraqi Council of Ministers related to expenditure rationalization, stressing the need for clear cost controls and optimal allocation of available resources.
