Al-Sudani and Erdoğan Discuss Advancing the Development Road Project

Peregraf — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani received a phone call on Friday from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with talks centering on strengthening bilateral ties—most notably accelerating cooperation on the strategic Development Road project.

According to the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Media Office, the two leaders reviewed mechanisms to advance the project, underscoring its economic and investment importance as a transformative corridor linking Iraq to regional and international markets. Both sides highlighted the Development Road as a cornerstone for expanding trade exchange, improving logistics connectivity, and attracting long-term investment that benefits both countries.
