Peregraf - Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), held a phone call on Sunday, February 8, with Tom Barrack, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy to Syria, to discuss the regional political landscape and the latest developments in Syria.
According to a statement from the Barzani Headquarters, the two sides exchanged views on the broader political situation in the region and recent shifts regarding the Syrian conflict. They agreed on the need to maintain all necessary efforts to prevent chaos, instability, and conflict, while promoting peace and security across the region.
During the call, Barzani and Barrack commended each other’s roles in fostering regional stability. Barzani also expressed his appreciation for continued U.S. engagement in the region and emphasized the importance of preserving the long-standing alliance between the people of the Kurdistan Region and the United States.
