Peregraf- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has directed the formation of a joint committee to coordinate with the Tax Authority in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, aiming to advance the unification of tax procedures across the country.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, al-Sudani also instructed relevant authorities to address tax-related obstacles facing the private sector until the approval of the General Budget Law.
The Prime Minister ordered the preparation of a draft resolution to be submitted to the Cabinet, focusing on resolving tax impediments affecting the private sector and Iraqi companies until the 2026 General Budget Law is passed.
Al-Sudani emphasized that the government is keen to handle this file within an integrated program designed to maximize non-oil revenues and support economic stability.
