Peregraf — Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara met on Monday with a delegation from the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) at the People’s Palace in Damascus, according to a statement issued by the Syrian Presidency.
During the meeting, President al-Shara reaffirmed the state’s commitment to guaranteeing the rights of Kurdish citizens within the framework of the constitution, stressing equality and citizenship for all Syrians.
The ENKS delegation, for its part, welcomed Presidential Decree No. 13, describing it as an important step toward strengthening rights and preserving Kurdish cultural and social identity. They emphasized the need for continued dialogue to translate these commitments into practical measures on the ground.
The meeting comes amid ongoing discussions on national cohesion and constitutional guarantees for Syria’s diverse communities.
