Peregraf — The Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance announced that 942,845,000,000 Iraqi dinars were deposited on Sunday into the bank account of the KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy at the Erbil branch of the Central Bank of Iraq. The funds are designated for the October salaries of civil servants and public employees in the Kurdistan Region.
A source at the Ministry of Finance told Peregraf that the salary distribution schedule is ready and will be announced immediately upon completion of technical procedures, allowing payments to begin without delay.
However, the fate of November and December salaries remains unresolved. According to information obtained by Peregraf, Baghdad is reluctant to transfer the two delayed salary payments, arguing that the responsibility lies with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
In contrast, the KRG is not willing to cover the salaries for those months and insists that the Iraqi federal government bears responsibility for funding them, leaving the issue at a continued political and financial impasse.
